Hello friends,
You don’t need household-name clients to write a powerful case study.
Smart climate tech companies are catching onto the power of a well-told case study, and this week, we’re rounding up some of the best.
Let us know if we’ve missed any.
Watershed (case study library)
Why it works: Watershed always exceeds expectations with content and their case studies are no exception. Very impressive and easily filterable case study library. All case studies follow a clear and engaging narrative structure and go beyond simply focusing on the product.
Persefoni + Impact Investing Pioneer
Why it works: Headline puts quantifiable results front and center. This is a great headline to use as a template for your own case studies. Actual case study be more informative and more human (focus on particular team members). Plenty of other great case studies on the site too. Good idea to link to customers sustainability reports ‘powered by Persefoni’.
Sweep + Shine
Why it works: Great specific scope on all their case studies and nicely filteratable. Great formatting and visuals. Nice framing of problem and solution. Could go into more detail and shift focus beyond product.
Plan A + Stryber
Why it works: Nice use of design, photos, and a templated structure. Could be a lot more comprehensive and informative.
Patch + Gorgias
Why it works: Great narrative framework and an in-depth look at the thought process behind the customer journey. Nice framing of problem and solution.
Coolset + Lepaya
Why it works: Specific scope (CSRD compliance). Focuses in on one team member, making the transformation more tangible. Highly informative, and helpful to readers in the same boat. Not totally focused on the product.
Diligent + Daikin
Why it works: Great use of video. Could be more informative.
Takeaways
If you aren’t making use of case studies yet, start today. The most established companies make customer stories a priority on their websites (usually including a customer section in their navigation bars) and collect stories from as many happy clients as possible.
It doesn’t have to be difficult — 60 minutes on a Zoom call and a few hours for the write-up — but it could be the difference between closing your next deal or losing it to a competitor.
